Haven't touch sheet metal for a while although I do have one of those 3in1
press/brake/rollers. I have the castings and bars made, sprocket inserts
turned and inserted. Stepper motor and driver etc. along with a spare ELS for
moving the back fence. Just never got around to finishing a proper bench for
the unit before adding the computer control.

The software for the ELS was going to take into account what is called K
factor. The AlibreCAD software sheet metal section allows you to specify the
thickness, the K factor and the bend radius so that holes on either side of the
bend end up at the correct position. It's one of the biggest reasons I have
stayed with Alibre.

Anyway, sheet metal also has grain. That means in effect the K factor is
different when you bend it across than with. The harder the metal the larger
the radius needed or the bend will crack. So 2024-T351 used for aircraft when
bent sharply cracks.

Here's a bit more information.
