This MacBook appears to handle the Linux version of the Pi OS quite well. Other than an inability to SSH into it.
Some of the list members have in the past downloaded through git or whatever the LinuxCNC files required to update the Pi to run LinuxCNC. After all, it's just a program that runs on Linux. So that program needs to be compiled on the Linux Host or cross compiled on a much faster system with the Pi hardware as the target. Ie. If you are compiling on an AMD 64 bit processor the compiler needs to compile for the multi-core ARM processor on the Pi. In this case it needs to compile on the AMD processor in the MacBook. That doesn't change any of the user interface (which is Pi based). As long as the Pi interface has Python etc. it should be possible to install LinuxCNC.
