What is out there for CAM G-Code generation? Preferably integrated
with with the CAD package so one can go back and forth to tweak a
drawing for better CAM without having to start all over again with the
CAD.
90% of my milling is 2,5D and I use SheetCAM for that (although it is
not matching your preference of having CAD integrated as well). Those
rare cases for actual 3D milling (for example, bathroom sink from
wood) I have been using Solidworks with their integrated CAM, but I am
pretty convinced to try Fusion360 based on tutorial videos I have
seen.
I'm with Viesturs as I also use Sheetcam. I draw in Rhino, and export
dxf layers like PROFILE, HOLES, POCKET, etc. Using Rhino's CONTOUR
command I can even do a version of waterlining. It's the workflow I
have...
Thanks,
Matt
