Thanks Marius,
Small typo on my part. Seagate drive label says 1000GB.
So I perhaps to be safe I should download the 2.9.3 ISO, burn a DVD and
install that. Then do the update/upgrade?

One annoying thing I've found so far with the 2.9.4 is the write protection
for so many of the system folders. I went to copy a bunch of the screen
backgrounds over to /usr/share/... and couldn't drag and drop. Had to
resort to 1970's technology and use the command line with a sudo in front of
it.

The 2.8 system allows me to drag into those folders. So obviously I'm not
privileged enough on 2.9.4. Is there a way to start the file manager so it
has sudo privileges?
Or how do I update my rights?

Thanks
John
