The real issue would be likely be finding a motherboard with a ISA slot
that can still run a recent enough version of Linux to host a non- ancient version of LinuxCNC.

"Industrial" motherboards (read: very expensive) do often provide an ISA slot for those old things. However, newer processors do no longer provide all signals to run the old ISA bus (as recently reported by https://hackaday.com/2025/03/22/the-fastest-ms-dos-gaming-pc-ever/).

Did they make any? The website showed only an ISA card afaict. The last time the website was active (according to the The Wayback Machine) was around August 2018.
