I believe SDL_ttf by default will use the best font the browser can
provide. I'm not sure if it's practical do better than that without using
FreeType, which is probably what most people use, as you mentioned.

About SDL2_mixer, it looks like we have the repo set up but not the
emscripten integration yet. There is a PR open for that in
