Dear friends, Ms Dorothy Lemmey and Ms Linda Light,

I received this message today on the mailing list of end-violence and a
proposal came into my mind, whether we can have such trainings in Iran too
or not (please consider that Iran and Afghanistan are neighbours). There are
now a lot of improvements on the subject of violence against women. I mean
that the society knows a little about it, there have been some films which
have been produced by the Iranian directors, and many workshops on
prevention of violence against women or papers in the journals or
periodicals, and things like that. But still it seems we need to move
forward. We can transfer such knowledge to Afghanistan. Yesterday, I was in
a seminar whose participants were future nurses of hospitals (students of
the related course in the university). It came to my mind that we can shape
such a training course for the nurses here in Iran, and since the language
is the same we can move and have it in Afghanistan too. In Iran, it can be
focused on domestic violence and in Afghanistan, it can be focused on post
conflict violence. Even, we can start to see whether there are nurses who
would like to go to Afghanistan and work there. I think that our
organization is in a position to assist, if Iranian people also can benefit
from such trainings.

Best regards
Saeid Neshat
