Thanks for the reply! I just checked on my Windows workstation, and do not seem to have a problem with this. I have a key with "unknown" in the Key validity field under Key Properties. I was able to select that key when sending encrypted email. However, even after locally signing (hope that's the right way of saying it) the public key, it's still not available to select on my Debian workstation. Could this be some configuration I've changed along the way? If everything was the way it should, would I only be able to select keys for encryption once I've set the validity on the public key I'm holding? That seems to be what the documentation is saying and what you're saying, but not what's happening on my Windows PC. Thanks!
