I won't go on at length because we're off topic in this list, but when I tried the full installer yesterday the installer would not let me install GnuPG without Kleopatra. As Kleopatra used to regularly completely hang on my system, I'd rather not do that - albeit it was better the last time I tried it. Samir told me about vanilla installer and I have used that successfully. > The rumors that Gpg4win does not work on 64 bit Windows may come from > two issues: > > - GpgEx - The explorer extension was not available for 64 bit Windows > until one the last versions (~ 2013). > > - GpgOL - The Outlook extensions does not work with a 64 bit Outlook. > > Everything else works in the same way as all other 32 bit Windows > applications continue to work on 64 bit Windows. > I was using 64bit Outlook with GPG4Win, and GPGol was unusable - also causing the system to hang completely. Perhaps it was GpGol that was causing the problems with Kleopatra - I don't know. All I can say is I tried every version as they came out and none would work at all, until the last version I tried - which was usable most of the time. However, I abandoned it because (and this *is* on topic) messages written using GPGol caused an error whereby Enigmail on other systems couldn't handle the output from GPG4Win correctly. It was a while back and my old brain can't remember precisely what the problem was (we discussed it at the time, so perhaps you remember?) - but GPG4Win was not being precise about something that Patrick was. It was about that point I got tired of Outlook (again) and switched finally back to Thunderbird/Enigmail.
