Notes
1. the attach public key switch indicates active; and
2. we should use the keyserver rather than attaching keys.

one of the things that needs to happen to get PGP into the mainstream is that a means for everyday users to get their keys authenticated.   I've blogged on occasion that this is a fuction that shopuld be offered as a service by local credit unions and banks.    these institutions are required to verify identitiy already; signing and uploading a key would be a trivial task for them to add as an available service.

this would enable the use of PGP/GnuPG on important documents such as Forms-1040, .... medical correspondence, contracts, etc.    unfortunately it leaves a tough problem : people need a Secure Operating System.    A Secure Operating System is one which will not permit itself to be modified by the activity of an application program.     these are available,-- just not used by the "mainstream" .

3. I still assert that: If I click SIGN then PGP/Mime should come on automatically.

I agree with this analysis. A public key isn't exactly an attached
document. A button indicating that the action was done on the right
of the signing button would be a nice feature.

On the other hand the visibility of a public key as a normal attached
file would lead many users to make errors. After thinking to the
complex cases implied (multiple identities, multiple drafts…) I
think that a feedback as basic as possible would be enough.

On the other hand, if no one ever asked for this feedback,
feel legitimate to forget it :).
