This preference now seems to be hidden in Thunderbird, unfortunately. Go to Preferences -> Advanced -> General, click on "Config Editor", confirm the warning. A listing of all preferences appears. Type "wrap" into the search field. The important setting is: mailnews.wraplength default integer 72 Do you have the same value?
