Enigmailʼs UI for creating a new keypair is not so hard to find: itʼs under Enigmail / Key Management / Generate / New Key Pair.
Hello,
I saved a so called Wiederrufszertifikat, in english disclaimer certificate / revocation certificate in form of [ email (0x12345678) rev.asc ]
May this help in my concern? If yes, what do i have to do?
Or is it a better possibility to create new keypair as you
say (may I then create a new passphrase)? - Or deinstall and
new install enigmail?
--> In both cases, will it work well to just send my new
"official-key"to my friends, and I import theirs again?
Or will there be problems / more to do?
For now it works, because the passphrase is asked very seldom
and i have only to restart thunderbird to work foreward.
Many thanks!
It is very important because there are many many important mails. I am able to send mails but not to sign. Is itpossible to transfer to a new Mailaccount or to make somehow a new enigma-installation?First of all, itʼs perfectly normal to have multiple own keypairs in the same keyring. So no any urgent need in getting rid of the current one. Secondly, Enigmail does not store your keys, itʼs a frontend to GPG, so purging it wonʼt achieve anything. You may rename ~/.gnupg in order to create a pristine one, though, if you find it easier.
