Well, this is another problem we have also with elementary. Terminology and Calaos also have this issue. Sometimes you want per application configuration or you are in a setup where your application take over the screen and want to manage elementary configuration. I think there is two solutions to those problem. First we need the concept of an elementary config overlay that does the same as a theme overlay (but I don't know yet how to implement the save logic). Second solution that I think we need a generic and themable widget for configuring elementary and application itself. Elm_Pref is a step in that direction, but there is more work to be done. Conclusion, you are perfectly right now, and I said so in my previous mail, but it doesn't lead to a nice setup in all use case of your application. We need to continuously think on how to improve our framework to make the most of it. As an example of issue with current situation, what happen if I don't have a TV, but use a tablet as a replacement. You see, we have more work to do in the configuration department of Elementary. We are not done yet...
