Hey, guys. I was running e 16.6pre2, which I compiled myself, and it ran mostly fine. THen the pre3 was announced, and they provided an RPM, and I installed that. Are you quite certain your problems weren't caused just by the transition from pre2 to pre3?
Then I started to see many of the problems people were complaining about. Windows would pop up on other workspaces, sometimes they would be lost off of all workspaces altogether.
So I wondered "what if I recompile that RPM?" So I rebuilt the rpm and installed it, and VIOLA, no more random window placement.
So I'm thinking that there is some library dependency, and perhaps my system has something out of the ordinary, or perhaps the RPM builder has the same, and as a result, there is some trouble.
Is this possible?
What if you re-install the binary RPM from SF?
/Kim
