Another thing you might want to consider is compile from source. It may take a little longer, but if there are any library problems, it will help you find out which ones. It seems a little odd to me that no matter what your configuration files are you end up with a messed up screen.
Perhaps the package you installed it from was broken, although this is hilghly unlikely.
Why don't you get the source, run the configure script in it and tell us if there are any errors besides the "no ale in the refrigerator"?
Maybe it'll give a little more insight on why you have problems with E.
Good luck

Hi!

So, the continuing saga of running 0.16.5 on my Linux box.

I tried running RH8 and no luck -- still black-menus and no fuzzy
window-borders.

I also downloaded/installed the latest nvidia driver and no luck.

I also tried mv'ing my .enlightenment dir and having enlightenment
re-create it for me. No luck, still same problem.

The rev I have, though, was looking for a libImlib.so.1 ; my system
has libImlib.so.11 which I soft-linked to libImlib.so.1. Do you guys
think this could be the problem?

In Debian these to files come from different packages namely (surprise) imlib11 and imlib1. I dont know about RH, but this could be your problem yes. Try to install both libraries.

Also, I'm a bit confused about downloading 0.16.6. There seems to be 30+ RPMs all interdependencies. Is there a easier way to download/install an enlightenment distribution that perhaps has all the various components?

Thanks,

Bobby
