Will E17 have support for the > way E16 does Virtual Desktops on Dual Head systems one day? Is Dual > Head support still considered buggy? xinerama (multiple zones) support is stable and working fine - i have been testing it on a daily basis now for a while (ie using it all day). multihead (ie 2 separate x roots) i can't comment on atm as i haven't tested this for ages. as for how e does multiple heads - the vast majority of users prefer the way it splits the heads up so each has its own set of virtual desktops. the only sane way to accomodate bother mechanisms is add a "sync" option where the virtual desktop changes of any 1 zone or container (screen) are mirrored on all others - this will get you as close to what you want as possible without major headaches code/design-wise. (ie flip desktosp on 1 screen - the other screen flips too, but there are still 2 sets of virtual desktops). patches of course accepted - as this seems to be desired by only a small set of people - not the majority, and most people used to the "old way" once they try the new one convert and begin to like it much more... i see not a lot of point investing much effort into this... :) > Many thanks! > Dustin > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Using Tomcat but need to do more?
