err... you start entrance via your .xinitrc? Doesn't sound right. Though I don't think that has any impact here. Anyways... So you are saying that if you goto the Power Management config panel, check the enable display power management box, set some timers, and apply it. Then you restart E, and those settings are no longer there? If that is correct please provide the output from `xset -q` 1) right after starting E 2) right after setting the DPMS settings the way you want them 3) right after restarting E again. Also, do you "Restart" E? logout and back in? when you log out does it fall back to entrance? Is this truly a problem of the monitor not "powering OFF" or are none of the settings sticking at all? Does it go into standby or suspend? When did you update last? and when was the update before that? Did these settings *ever* work for you? Thanks... sorry for all the questions. Kinda shooting in the dark here. > > Jim > > wrote: >> On 03/31/2007 09:17, MillTek wrote: >>> Hi, >>> >>> For the last several days I have found that unless I go into the >>> configuration>screen>power management and re-apply the dpms settings >>> my screens don't power off when the system is unattended. >> >> Hrm... well, I *believe* its working "as advertised".
