Yes, that thought has crossed my mind before, and it would be a more
elegant solution. Unfortunately my relevant programming skills are nil
(Java only), and I don't have the time or inclination to do anything
about it. Hence the shell script.

If anyone wants to moduleify it, they're welcome to do so, but I'm
afraid I'd have little or no input into the process.
