Hi there,

first of all: I am totally new to E17, but after playing around with it for two
weeks, or so, I have to say, that I am positively impressed. I really like it
and decided that I want to use it.

However, I am struggling with a couple of things. My major problem are the key
bindings. E. g., in all other DEs or WMs I use, I can use the arrow keys
(between regular and numeric keys, just below Pg. Up/Down etc on standard
desktop keyboards). Also, it seems that special characters, such as @ and ~
are not available, by the usual combinations of AltGr with Q and AltGr with +
(on a German keyboard).

While the dead arrow keys are just a bit annoying, the non-functional @ is a
show-stopper, obviously, or a great time saver for you and me, if you prefer
;), as it would totally prevent me from writing emails.

Now, I think it would be possible to change the key bindings using the
settings tool. However, this wouldn't feel "right" to me. In fact, I think,
that I am overlooking something.

Can you help?

BTW, I did an extensive web search regarding this topic, and got many hits,
but no useful answer.

Thanks for your patience with an E17 newbie!
