Hum, I don't want to be rude, but you don't seem to know how your system works. For changing Shell refer to this: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/handbook/shells.html I don't recommend you to compile as root. Reread the pkg_add manual page and install prerequisites like X, gcc, ...
