Larry, it has already been suggested that your
~/.local/applications/mysrcipt.desktop file may have the wrong syntax or some
error, so check this first. Then go to the iBar icon for your script, right
click on 'Icon <name>' and then check under Basic/Application you have the
correct syntax and under General/Desktop file you point to your
~/.local/applications/<name>.desktop. Also check that your script file is
executable by your user.
That's how it has worked here for years.
