This seemed like a very nice idea, so I had a look in the code. That looks very straightforward to implement this feature because there is already all the code to get the preview. Actually I may have even already done a dumb version of it. Unfortunately I can't test it right now because I don't have my camera with me. I'll go to bed and test tomorrow.
