Richard,

I'd be more worried about retaining access to the PSUs and fan trays. If you
route the cables under the N7 you end up making it a nightmare to ever hot swap
the components below the DFEs. If thought out correctly cabling a 72 port DFE
isn't a pain. My office in LA is a prime example. We have ladder rack leading
from the patch panels to the top of the rack. At the top of the rack is a N3
chassis with 72 port blades. The cables enter the access hole at the top of
the rack. We pulled back the slack and stored it in the ladder rack. This
allowed the installation at the DFE to look very neat and tidy.

What's the alternative to the 72 port DFE you're looking at? Anyway you slice
it, cabling high density switches takes some work.

Thanks,
Lou Goddard

Subject: [enterasys] Enterasys N-series 72 port blade

All,
Does anyone have any pictures of the 72 port blade for the N-series chassis
fully cabled?
We are interested in the blade, but are having difficulty justifying the
purchase of such a blade because it seems that cabling the blade could be a
problem.
Thanks,
Richard
