I am in the middle of a Nortel to Avaya conversion. Fun stuff.

1) Avaya - we are going to eventually have a mix of h.323 and SIP. Have you
decided which technology you are going to use? That is your first hurdle.. We
chose both because we want to get to the Motorola TEAM solution which requires
SIP. We are also looking at tying it into our SIP based mass notification
system.

2) 60+, 200+ when finished removing the Cisco switches. The whole facility is
going to be 100% Enterasys. We are removing Cisco to get to Policy as well as
the VoIP capability.

3) When finished over 1300 extensions.

4) Close to a year now. The migration is slow. Still running into some
Norel/Avaya compatibility opportunities.

5) See #4. Not between the network and the VoIP but between the Nortel and the
Avaya. Our Nortel is an older system which is what is causing the
opportunities...

6) Certainly, if you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Subject: [enterasys] ...any Enterasys customers running VoIP?

We are looking at converting from our traditional PBX, a Nortel CS1000

system, to a voice over IP solution. If you are running a VoIP solution

over an Enterasys layer-2 network, I would be interested in the following:

1) Which VoIP vendor are you using?

2) How many Enterasys switches do you have?

3) How many VoIP phones do you have?

4) How long have you been running VoIP?

5) Have there been any major interoperability issues?

6) Could I contact you directly to follow-up if I have more questions?

Thanks in advance,

Barron
