Brian,

We are using Nortel VOIP for over a year now. We have all Enterasys gear on the
edge (100+ C2 switches) and a combination of N7 and S-4s.

We didn't have to do anything special except setup three vlans for the voip
CLAN, ELAN, and TLAN. The TOS bit (DSCP bit) is already setup to work in
Enterasys firmware. No operational issues. In our configurations, we plug our
phones into the wall and our computers into the phone... We tag the user ports
for the CLAN vlan and untagged for the users vlan.

Subject: [enterasys] ...any Enterasys customers running VoIP?

We are looking at converting from our traditional PBX, a Nortel CS1000
system, to a voice over IP solution. If you are running a VoIP solution
over an Enterasys layer-2 network, I would be interested in the following:

1) Which VoIP vendor are you using?
2) How many Enterasys switches do you have?
3) How many VoIP phones do you have?
4) How long have you been running VoIP?
5) Have there been any major interoperability issues?
6) Could I contact you directly to follow-up if I have more questions?

Thanks in advance,

Barron
