We are deploying an Avaya system now. We have the phones configured to set
the priority to 6 at layer 2 for phone traffic. Enterasys switches will
honor that all the way through for both layer 2 and layer 3 traffic. We
are also assigning phone traffic to a role via policy just to seperate it
from the PC traffic. We are assigning priority there too just in case
there is an issue with the phone doing it. Eventually we will lock down
the phones to only be able to talk to the phone server and will also add
layer 3 priority just in case we ever end up routing to a non Enterasys
device. We have deployed 200 phones and have had one call quality
complaint that I believe is a layer 1 problem.
