On the "Configuration" tab of our NAC appliances, there is a field called
"End-System Capacity" which displays a something like "2500/3000 (83%)". I
know the second number (3000) is the number of licenses we have for this
device.

What does the 2500 number represent? I had thought it meant "active"
(simultaneous) connections, but in our case, that number is far greater than
the number of DHCP addresses available to clients that use the NAC. Can
someone shed some light on this for us?
