Your opinion, and I didn't make an excuse, I gave reasons. It's a poorly indexed page, and it's also a page that spammers search for to harvest mailing list addresses for an org/mailman instance. There's very little good reason to list it on the index page.

Your tone implies malfeasance, and there's none.
