Ummm...NO! There are many, many, many of us who fought long and hard to get
the delete key do what it does today. If one is prone to hitting that key
by accident then simply turn on the delete notifications as instructed in a
previous message. Some of us very rarely or never hit the delete key by
accident and like having not to press a modifier key to delete things. You
have a solution to your problem. Removing functionality that others of us
like is not an answer.
