It doesn't for me. If I select "Work Week" from the "View" menu, then, as
long as I click single days only, the view remains locked to Work Week
whether the calendar is in its own window or not. Remember that as soon as
you drag-select more than one day you are overriding the "Work Week" view
and it therefore stops displaying "Work Week". If you manually select a work
week by drag-selecting, the you don't have a view locked in and the calendar
is going to respond accordingly.
