Kris,

1) So, if it were the "known bug", is there a "known fix"? Has anyone
written any scripts or something else to deal with this?

I'd try to wipe the device and do restore using HotSync, but last time I did
a "restore" by wiping the device and resyncing, it didn't do the right thing
with Contacts and I ended up wasting time jumping through hoops to make
Contacts not have stale data in addition to Entourage contacts. But, Kris,
do you think that would fix this issue, or would that just waste my time
(based on your experience with this known bug)?

2) I didn't import from Palm Desktop. I haven't created a new category
within Palm Desktop for many months, and I've used Outlook Express and
Personal Organizer for months.

Contacts were imported from Outlook Express
Everything Else wasimported from the Palm device by HotSync. (that data had
gotten there from Personal Organizer and the Backup conduit)

Like most users, I used Palm Desktop long ago, but it wasn't how the data
got into the device in this latest journey.

Sync worked a few times successfully. I looked upon it and saw it was good.

However, there were lots of unneeded categories (Travel, Work) and some of
my categories I wanted to move around, for instance, split one category into
two different ones, and shift the items to the appropriate one.

Then I synced.

Things look for the most part OK on the device, although some items got
bumped to unfiled by accident because their category is not there.

However, in Entourage, the categories keep multiplying. :-(
