If you start at <http://applescript.com> (a shortcut to
<http://www.apple.com/applescript>, by the by), you'll see more helpful
links than you can shake a stick at.
All of the documents that Paul mentioned are referenced from there. The
direct links to the PDF files are included below.
<http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/macos8/pdf/AppleScriptLanguageGuide.pd>
<http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/mac/pdf/AS_Finder_Guide.pdf>
<http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/mac/pdf/Scripting_Additions.pdf>
I note that giving the <http://www.google.com> search engine the string
"AppleScript Language Guide" and hitting the "I feel lucky" button takes you
directly to the Apple web page. Similarly for "Scripting Additions Guide".
"Finder Guide" would require you to go to the second listed site; but
"AppleScript Finder Guide" goes to the right one.
I further note that <http://www.altavista.com>, <http://www.lycos.com>, and
<http://www.yahoo.com> generate fairly similar results. So I'm intrigued by
what constitutes "high and low" for you. ;-)
