If I option-click on an app in the torn off application switcher (menu) it
hides *all* the other apps in the background. This is what I was wondering
about when I asked if it was new. To my knowledge it had always worked the
way you describe it, hiding just the app you option clicked on. Or maybe I'm
confused and we're trying to say the same thing, I just don't remember it
hiding all the other apps when bringing the "new" app you just clicked to
the foreground. Damn 1960's, I still haven't recovered.
