Yesterday I wanted to find a message, buried in some folder somewhere, and I watched Entourage work on it (bravely, slowly) to death. And I tried to enter lots of repetitious stuff into the Calendar. And then I tried to PRINT the calendar. Argh! And I said to myself: "you know, Tom, you don't NEED to have the Calendar "integrated" into the E-mail. It's not really that cool or necessary. Many years ago, you "did" integrated software (Appleworks for the Apple IIc)." (Neat program! Cool laptop!) Those days are over. "Tom, you have ooodles of RAM. Your computer switches from program to program with speed & alacrity. You own the highly regarded Eudora-5 which finds messages in a FLASH and you own the super-cool 'Personal Organizer 3.0.7' from Chronos." Best calendar-program I've seen. Why, Tom, are you struggling here? a) software is fun; Office-2001 arrived; I love to play; In my job, I need to know these programs and what they do and do not do; Eudora drives me crazy sometimes b) the "community" aspect. This list, with its various AppleScript-ing volunteer wizards, advice-givers, and helpers -- it's just amazing! I've been only a lurker, but I'll miss y'all... And I reserve the right to SWITCH BACK next week, when Eudora ticks me off... -- Tom Mead Reference Librarian Dartmouth College Hanover, New Hampshire [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Tom Mead Reference Librarian Biomedical Libraries Dartmouth College Hanover, New Hampshire 03755 (603) 650-1741 [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To search the archives: <http://www.mail-archive.com/entourage-talk%40lists.boingo.com/>
