I put my documents folder onto a partition other than my startup partition.
I then put an alias to it on the startup drive. It works fine.

You could probably get away with putting either Microsoft User Data or your
identity subfolder (if you have one) onto the Zip disk, and then putting an
alias to it on the hard drive in place of the actual folder. Of course you
will always have to have the Zip disk mounted to use your E-mail. And
E'rage's files might outgrow a Zip disk if you let them grow unhindered.
