Using an alias to the Microsoft Data Folder works fine, as others here have
already pointed out.

I'd like to add a word of caution. What I did wasn't the same thing you want
to do, but it does lend insight into sharing Entourage's data between
several machines.

I keep Entourage on my main desktop computer. I also use a PowerBook via an
AirPort connection. I installed the Entourage application on the PowerBook
and made a folder alias on the PowerBook which pointed to the Microsoft Data
Folder on the desktop computer. It worked great: opening Entourage on the
PowerBook accessed the data on the desktop computer.

Except the time the PowerBook crashed. After the crash, opening Entourage on
either the desktop machine or the PowerBook resulted in a files busy error.

I was forced to restore the database from my latest backup.
