I've been having a strange and quite annoying problem with my screen the
past week. I'm on an iMac, Rev. B, 233, 96 ram, 4G HD, OS 9.0.4 (for a
little while yet).

The trouble is my screen picture changes shape every now and then - when I
boot, launch apps, execute commands etc. Sometines it's suddenly to wide for
the screen but then also too low, other times it's too tall for the screen
and then also too narrow. This means I have to go into the Monitor-CP all
the time to change the setting and that gets tiring after a while.

I use the resolution 1024x768, 75 hz and the computer is from Jan. 99. I
wonder if it's battery related, only I always heard that the first symptoms
of a tired battery is the date and time going haywire. (Another question I
just thought of - is there anywhere it's possible to change the frequency of
the screen? This is useful for me in tv-production and sometimes having to
film the screen with a camera set to 60 hz)

Any ideas?

TIA Carsten
