I have for some time experienced IE crashing in the oddest situations even
though I have assiduously followed the advice on this list.

I've noticed that both Entourage and IE seem to share a file called
cache.waf in System Folder->Preferences->MS Internet Cache and an invisible
file called cache.lck in Temporary Items. If I trash the Internet Cache
folder and restart and use IE before Entourage, I can live happily until I
quit either of these apps and then restart one of them -- the order of
loading on the second time appears to be unimportant. BTW Entourage itself
crashes rarely but IE goes south reliably on the second load -- it usually
crashes when I change to the Download Manager window or attempt to open the
scrapbook tab.

Just my experiences thus far, not really expecting a solution.
