Better option: set up file sharing on your desktop Mac, enable sharing over
IP.  Then any time you're connected to the Net, you just connect to your Mac
and grab a copy of your data file.  (You could also use the aliasing to use
it live, but God help you with that on a slow connection.)

Best as I can figure, you'd need to have your Mac at home online and on at
all times -- no problem with some home connections.  And you have to
remember to quit Entourage on your desktop Mac to make sure the database
isn't an open file.  (If you don't you can use AppleScript to quit an app on
the home Mac if Program Linking over IP is turned on.)

Better still, I think this would work with 9.x at home and 8.6 on the
laptop.
