I suspect not. What you are reporting isn't really a <bug> but a feature
request or change request, IMHO. Maintenance releases are usually limited to
repairing serious flaws, not adding new features or changing a behavior to
something more desirable. Some of your suggestions certainly have some
merit, but I don't recall having seen anyone else clamoring for them yet.
Maybe your message will elicit some supporting votes, though, and will
result in changes in future versions (like for OSX).
