Thanks to those who answered my questions about the AppleScript Guide in the
Help menu under OS 9.1. After I learned that others were able to access the
Guide without trouble, I started a conflict test. It turns out that the
drivers for my video card were incompatible with the Help Viewer, but a
downgrade to a previous version of the drivers seems to have fixed things.
