If you have the Japanese Language Kit installed, you can just enter Japanese in any field, and it should just work. In the Address Book tab of preferences, if you check the “Enable Japanese Contact” checkbox, each contact will let have a checkbox that lets you say whether or not it’s a Japanese contact. Japanese contacts have additional fields like furigana fields, and a hagaki tab for keeping track of postcards. Registering the app will get you even more stuff, like the ability to add the lucky days to the calendar.
Thanks for the info, Dan. (You too, Paul.) I don’t know how I missed that checkbox in the preferences. The extra fields look great!
Aside from adding the lucky days to the calendar, what other fun stuff should I expect once I register Entourage as a Japanese app? It’d be great to know what to look for.
As always, much appreciated!
Justin
I'm just guessing here, but I'd suspect that the spell-checker won't work in English any more. You could get a 3rd-party one like Spellchecker that others have recommended. There might be more stuff like that. Do you use MS Word a lot? I'm not sure what issues there might be if one Office app is registered in one language and another in another. Dan will know.
