I've made use of those in some of my scripts. The script which inserts the
cursor truly above the attribution line, for example, uses cmd-left arrow in
emulation mode. My usual version doesn't act up, although there is one
version that does, which I now understand. I had never noticed those
differences in "Microsoft-style" and "Macintosh-style" text editing with
arrows. I guess MS-style means "as on a PC" except command for control, I
suppose. Fortunately, with text previously selected (how I try to use them),
both do the same thing, moving the cursor to the top, although sometimes the
previous text-selection emulation doesn't work quickly enough. This now
explains a few things that appeared erratic: it obviously depends on whether
the mac or ms style is set on in preferences. I could never figure out why
it would sometimes jump just a word back, sometimes a line, when the text
selection hadn't kicked in.
