Ironic. I just this afternoon was asked by a friend to help with "the
abomination that is Mac OS 9", the "exceedingly slow and bloated" thing
they're "passing off as an OS". He was right, on his machine OS 9 crawled,
belched, stuttered and strained. Of course, his machine was a 6115 CD, with
that known PowerPC animal, the 601 running at 60mhz. I backed him off to OS
8.1 after formatting and backing up his disk, and convinced him that
something more that 16 megs of RAM and having less than 1 meg of available
disk space *might* have had something to do with it. Doesn't matter, for him
OS 9 will always taste foul.
