I thought I did.

In the front interface, where you see your folder list, your subject list,
and the email preview:

In the top right pop-up we can filter: From, To, Subject and Category.
To filter From, you choose From and then enter the text. Like I can find
your message by typing Allen or Watson. BUT... If I cannot recall your name
and know you worked for (pretend) a company called mac and your domain was
mac.com, I want to be able to type "mac" in there.

I don't seek an interface change. Just that the text-entry field recognize a
full URL instead of only the words before the "@" sign.
