Ken,
I'm not sure I understand. What you want to do, if I read your message
right, is simply to MOVE messages from the main folder into sub-folders, by
date. Probably it would be good, if a message from July, 2000 is encountered
and no folder "2000-07" exists, that the script create it. That way the
script could be run periodically and continue to create subfolders as
needed.
All of this is happening <in Entourage>, right? You do not want Finder
folders, right?
What you want isn't all that difficult, really. The other person who replied
assumed, I think, that you wanted to write out messages to Finder text files
in folders, and that is what the scripts he referred to do, I believe.
Do you script at all? Will some code snippets and suggestions suffice, or do
you need someone to write the script for you? (I might be willing to take it
on, or Paul; sounds fairly easy but fun.)
