I hate to contradict you but last 2 years has seen some really big changes
in the way our Macs are made. If you have a Mac plugged in a power strip and
every time that you shut down the CPU you turn the power off also at the
power strip the battery will discharge rapidly. I have some clients were
this happened and the funny part if you leave them plugged in a live socket
the battery will recharge at least it will keep the clock on time. I have 5
clients were this happened all elderly and all very tidy , turning off the
power.
The first time it was an Imac that was only 2 months old . So I replaced the
battery , a month later they call me again and same thing. So I research it
and found that out. So now she leaves her Imac plugged in and the battery
stays up
