Started my full-time transition over to OS X this weekend after a few month
of playing around with it half-heartedly. I'm running on a PowerBook G4,
384 Mb RAM, 10 Gig partition for OS X, 20 Gig partition for OS 9. Doing my
best to keep the file structures separate so I can separate my backup
strategies.

All in all, very happy with 10.0.4; there's lots of cool stuff here. Main
problem so far -- Entourage is running dog slow. When I launched it, I had
serious typing lag and a one minute delay before I sent or received mail;
both have improved somewhat, but are still rather choppy. E'rage is the
only Classic app I'm running at the moment.

I could set up the Mail app to be my mail application in X, but then I lose
E'rage's other features and my storage of outgoing mail. Pain in the
patootie.

Any suggestions?

Best,
Jeff Porten
