You didn't explain that in your message.

Correct. That article I linked describes which Prefs files:

One is in your Identity folder, the other is the Entourage Preferences file
in the Microsoft folder in Preferences folder. You'll probably need to trash
both, from the sound of it. Since Entourage could open with a different
identity (yes?), you shouldn't need to trash the PPC Registration data file.

Then close ALL other app, and give Entourage the maximum RAM available on
your computer - all 1000 MB if you have it. Yes, for a 385 MB database, you
will need more RAM than smaller databases do for a rebuild: I would guess
50-100 MB RAM. If you only have 32-64 MB on your computer, this may be
difficult or impossible. But it could probably still be rebuilt on someone
else's computer or by adding more RAM. You really do want a lot of RAM to do
rebuild a big database. Your Type 3 error indicates that you didn't have
enough available. You also need at least 385 MB free disk space, and more
for virtual memory - say at least 500 MB. If you don't have that, move some
items off for hard disk temporarily.

Now for something important: I can see from the source of your message that
YOU NEVER APPLIED THE SR 1 UPDATE. The database rebuild engine was vastly
improved in SR!. so before you do anything else, download SR1 from the mac
Office website and apply it. NOW. Then do all the above.

OK, I think there's been maybe one or two people who had such a terribly
corrupted database that thy couldn't fix it, even with SR1. if that turns
out to be your situation, write back There are still things you can do to
salvage your messages. But chances are that with SR1, trashed Preferences,
and LOTS of RAM, you'll be able to rebuild your database.

OK (cooling down)
