Thanks for the great suggestions. Paul - I *did* update with the SR update patch when it came out, but evidently it must not have taken. Very odd. In any case, I went and redownloaded it, installed the SR update, then tried a rebuild several times on it. Here is what occurred: 1. I tried the rebuild several times, assigning 100MB of RAM of ER, then 200MB of RAM, then finally 500MB of RAM. I only have 768 on the machine. I feel assigning 500MB of RAM of ER should be more than enough even for heavy jobs like this rebuild. 2. Each time I tried to do a Typical Rebuild, it went through the motions, then at the end I got this message: "Compacting failed. The end of the file was reached. -39 Try a complex rebuild?" 3. Each time I further tried a complex rebuild and it went through the motions, but at the very end it froze/locked up the program. Just to be sure it wasn't still doing something, I waited 15 minutes or so and then finally tried to Force Quit ER. I was unable to Force Quit ER so had to reboot and let disk first aid run. 4. After several tries of this and restarting, I went back in to see if for some unknown reason this had fixed the database. It had not. When I run ER in that identity and with that DB I still get a type 2 error and crash. Anything else I should be trying? Yes, I have tried a reinstall of ER from the CD.
